Bullish activity at KSE; Index up 118 points

KARACHI:
Bulls were in dominating position at Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) Wednesday as the benchmark KSE-100 Index surged by 118 points to close at 9,805.
Fresh buying was witnessed at KSE after the administration assured brokers that their reservations on the new mechanism of margin financing will be redressed.
The market opened with 52 points up today.
Major buying was witnessed in oil and gas, banking and fertilizer sectors.
The trade volume was recorded at 22.4 million shares.
Jehangir Siddiqui Company was today’s volume leader which advanced by Rs1.62 to Rs40.81.
The market analysts are optimistic that the 100 Index could cross 10,000 level this week.
