ISLAMABAD :
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) stricken a compromise on Local Bodies system and announced to keep the system intact by 31 December 2009, Geo News reported Wednesday.
A delegation of Muttehada Qaumi Movement (MQM) called on President Asif Ali Zardari in the Presidency today afternoon and discussed issues relating to the coalition government and law and order situation in Sindh.
The MQM delegation comprised Governor Sindh Dr. Ishratul Ibad Khan, Federal Ministers Dr. Farooq Sattar, Dr. Babar Ghouri, Provincial Ministers and Parliamentarians.
Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Federal Ministers Senator Rehman Malik, Syed Khurshid Shah, Syed Naveed Qamar and Chairman NRB Dr. Asim Hussain were also present during the meeting.
It may be recalled that during President’s meeting with MQM Chief Altaf Hussain in London, it had been agreed that the two coalition partners periodically meet to sort out coalition matters.
